We are thrilled to announce that our scouts achieved second place among 18 participating troops at this year’s Spring Camporee! Held over the exciting weekend of May 4th, fittingly themed around Star Wars, the event was not only a test of skill but also a fantastic display of team spirit and enthusiasm. Despite some light rain, our scouts’ spirits remained high and unshaken.
Our troop demonstrated exceptional teamwork and agility, notably setting a new record in the “Escape the Death Star” challenge, completing it in an impressive 45 seconds. Additionally, we clinched third place in the “Avoid the TIE Fighter” competition, a spirited gaga ball tournament that showcased our scouts’ dodging and strategic playing skills.
The camporee featured a variety of Star Wars-themed activities that our scouts participated in with great energy and enthusiasm. Highlights included “Stormtrooper Target Practice,” “Asteroid Hunt” (an exciting twist on an egg hunt), “Find the Force Tug of War,” “Empire at War” (a strategic game of capture the flag), “Battleship,” and the playful “Don’t Drop Yoda” game akin to hot potato.
Following our first-place win last year, securing the second place this year continues to highlight the strength and dedication of our troop. We are incredibly proud of all our participants for their hard work, camaraderie, and the fun they brought to every challenge. These events not only strengthen our scouting skills but also build lasting memories and friendships. Here’s to more adventures and successes in the future!
May the Scout spirit be with you always!
