I'm gathering the Troops for an ongoing effort to reduce the non-native species in one of New Lenox' wonderful parks.

This workday will focus on brush cutting at the Hickory Creek Barrens Nature Preserve, just east of the Lincoln-Way Central campus. Entrance on Schoolhouse Road, just north of Route 30, across from LWC.

Please dress for outdoor work and the weather.

Wear long pants, and closed-toe shoes.

Work gloves and tools will be provided.

Work will take place on uneven terrain that is primarily natural surface.

Food and water will be provided.
